Room to be named at airport in honor of Trooper John J. McKenna IV

The parents of New York State Trooper and Marine Capt. John J. McKenna IV have spearheaded a project that will provide a room at the Albany International Airport for military personnel to relax or be greeted during their travels. McKenna was killed while serving with the Marines in Fallujah, Iraq as he tried to reach a fallen comrade on Aug. 16, 2006.
At a press conference, Albany International Airport officials announced the room would be open within a month and would be named after McKenna. McKenna’s parents, John McKenna III and Karen, spoke at the press conference of their son’s dedication to his fellow soldiers and their mission to help other soldiers.
