Baseball umpire and former NY State Trooper dies

National League umpire Bill Kibler, who was once a New York State Trooper, died at the age of 81. Kibler is best known for being the first-base umpire during Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, having made the call when Mookie Wilson's ground ball went through Bill Buckner's legs, giving the New York Mets a comeback win over the Boston Red Sox.
