Troopers shave their heads to raise money for charity

4/17/2008 12:00:00 AM

On March 18, 2008 Troopers Otabio Cepeda, Adam Hoffman, Brian Poulos , Joe Zawol, Troop L PBA Alternate Delegate Frank Santini, Mike Pellegrino, Brendon Dillon,  Sgt.  Scott Crawford, Sgt. Michael Granville and Inv. Larry Hemmerich shaved their heads for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to raise money for children’s cancer research. People raise money to support this foundation and it goes as far as shaving people's heads to show support for those who undergo chemotherapy and lose their hair.  Volunteers who donate can either just donate money or go all out and shave their head as well.  This year we were able to raise $2,600, and donations are still coming in under our team name New York State Troopers.  This year the team members attended the St Baldrick's Day which was held on March 8, 2008 at Napper Tandy's Pub in Smithtown on Long Island.
