The New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (NYSTPBA) congratulates Steven James on his appointment as Acting Superintendent of the New York State Police. Having served in the State Police for more than 30 years, James has extensive experience in a variety of ranks. This firsthand knowledge is important for the Superintendent, who is entrusted with leading our hard-working Troopers who risk their lives every day they put on their uniforms. We thank Gov. Kathy Hochul for the time and effort she placed into making this decision, and we look forward to working with Acting Superintendent James to improve the working conditions for the NYSTPBA membership.
