NYS Trooper Dies in the Line of Duty

The following is a statement from New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association President Thomas H. Mungeer:

The NYSTPBA mourns the loss of one of our members, Trooper James J. Monda, who died in the line of duty yesterday. Trooper Monda, 45, had served the people of the state of New York as a Trooper for nearly 19 years.

“Trooper Monda selflessly dedicated his life to protecting and serving the public, and we will never forget his ultimate sacrifice,” said NYSTPBA President Thomas H. Mungeer.

The NYSTPBA will assist with arrangements for the line-of-duty death funeral, as well as assist Trooper Monda’s family and fellow Troopers with whatever needs arise.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Trooper Monda’s family, friends and fellow Troopers.
