NYS Trooper Shot During Traffic Stop

Statement from New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (NYSTPBA) President Charles W. Murphy:

Today’s shooting of a New York State Trooper during a traffic stop in Duanesburg demonstrates the danger faced by our members every day they put on their uniform to serve and protect the public. Every call for help is unpredictable and no day is ever “routine.” Our thoughts and prayers are with Trooper Richard Albert, who was shot by a suspect during this incident, and we are thankful that he is expected to recover from his injuries. As the labor union representing more than 7,000 active and retired Troopers, we will continue to support Trooper Albert and his family.
